Superior

This is my interpretation of a concept made for a past ArtStation challenge on Ancient Civilization. I liked the overall vibes of all the concepts made by Anastasia Tupikova, but I chose to work on the Superior.

With this character I had the chance to model a human body with strange proportions and anatomy. After the main body was done I duplicated the arms and posed separately. The stones are hand sculpted.
In the texturing and rendering phase I was especially careful about the emissive channel. The body mesh has a little bit of SSS and the light in the chest is done just with the emission map. The material for the floating arms was a little bit tricky to do, I used the fresnel node of Redshift.
Modeled with ZBrush and Maya, textured with Substance Painter and rendered with Redshift.
